Tasting Notes

Bright amber colour with a complex nose of dried fruits, suggestions of dried figs, nuts, almonds and hazelnuts. A harmonious whole, marked by delicious honey notes and a subtle touch of roasted peanuts. Rich and satin in the taste, reveals an excellent structure and a remarkable unctuosity. A powerful wine but also balanced and elegant with a singular persistent finish.

“Medium-maple color with a golden edge. Beguiling scents of Indian spices, pecan, saline and mace. Medium weight, wellbalanced overall with slight warmth emanating from the aguardente that seemed to enhance this Kopke. Packed with tasty mandarin orange, an extremely smoky character that bordered on charred campfire marshmallow and toasty Marcona almonds that were prominent on the finish and showed off the mouthwatering acidity. Not easy to find, but a solid 1950." Roy Hersh, FTLOP 92 points 8/10/13
